Our Story
In 2014, I served on a short term mission trip in Thailand. I had no idea who we would be serving, and it ended up being refugees from Myanmar (Burma). They could enter Thailand, but only stay in specified areas - villages with limited running water and electricity, or refugee camps. If they are found outside these places, they can be deported, imprisoned and or fined. At that time, my daughter was beginning her senior year in high school and Jeremiah 29:11 kept running through my head. I couldn’t understand how these refugees might have opportunities and a plan, they had nowhere to go. Whereas my daughter, had almost unlimited possibilities in comparison. I knew I wanted to do something.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
