Dedicated to Equipping Refugees to Thrive

Our Story

I never expected a mission trip to change the course of my life.

In 2014, I traveled to Thailand on a short-term mission, not knowing who we would serve. When we arrived, I learned that we would be working with refugees from Myanmar (Burma)—people who had fled violence and oppression only to find themselves in another kind of confinement. They were allowed into Thailand but restricted to specific areas—villages with little running water or electricity, or refugee camps that offered little hope for the future. If they left these places, they risked imprisonment, deportation, or fines.

Back home, my daughter was about to begin her senior year of high school. As I stood among the refugees, the words of Jeremiah 29:11 echoed in my heart:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

What’s in a Name?

The name 52 Coalition is inspired by Nehemiah 6:15-16, where the wall of Jerusalem was completed in 52 days, showcasing God’s guidance and provision. Similarly, we aim to model Nehemiah’s leadership: organized, bold in prayer, delegation, advocacy, and celebration of wins. Coalition represents how we join together with volunteers and other organizations.
